Senior Thermal Systems Engineer
Thermal Systems Team · Experienced Hire (5–10 yrs)
Mission
Lead decision-maker for HTS/IU-IsoTES® media and cycle design. Drive the core IsoTES® IP alongside the CTO.
Key Responsibilities
- Design thermal-storage media and cycles for glycerin (200°C) and solar salts (550°C)
- Validate integrated cycles across heat exchangers, absorption chillers, ORC, steam generators, and hot-air generators
- Own thermal-performance guarantees for two demonstration plants (5 MWhr and 0.7 MWhr)
- Set operating margins based on media corrosion and degradation data
- Assess thermal suitability for overseas PoCs (Mongolia) and new markets
Requirements
- Bachelor's or higher in Mechanical, Chemical, or Energy Engineering (Master's/PhD preferred)
- 5+ years in thermal energy systems or chemical-plant thermal engineering
- Hands-on experience designing or simulating heat exchangers, HTF, and thermal cycles
- Ability to write technical documents in Korean
Preferred
- Experience in TES (thermal storage), CSP, heat pumps, or ORC
- Experience leading government R&D projects (PI level)
- Simulation tools: Aspen, EES, MATLAB, Modelica
- Familiarity with pressure-vessel, KGS, and high-temperature fluid safety codes
- English proficiency (for overseas PoCs and foreign component specs)
