Mongolia Pilot Project Successfully Completed

The KOICA CTS Seed 1 pilot project in Tsetserleg Som demonstrates successful operation through the harsh Mongolian winter.

The KOICA CTS Seed 1 pilot project in Tsetserleg Som, Arkhangai Province, Mongolia has successfully completed its first winter operation, demonstrating the viability of IsoTES® technology in extreme cold conditions.

Throughout the winter months, the system provided reliable heating to the community center, maintaining comfortable indoor temperatures even when outside temperatures dropped to -40°C. The system achieved a 95% uptime rate and reduced coal consumption by an estimated 80%.

Local residents reported significant improvements in air quality compared to previous winters when coal-burning stoves were the primary heating source. The project has garnered attention from other Mongolian provinces seeking similar clean heating solutions.

Based on the success of this pilot, GIGAette and KOICA are now planning the larger-scale Seed 2 deployment, which will provide heating to over 100 households in the same region.
